The UK Nutrient Profile Model classifies foods as "Less Healthy" or "Not Less Healthy" based on a scoring system across energy, saturated fat, sugar, salt (negative scores) versus protein, fibre, and fruit/veg/nut content (positive scores). Foods scoring 4+ (food) or 1+ (drinks) are classified as HFSS (High in Fat, Sugar, and/or Salt).
Nutri-Score is a five-letter colour-coded front-of-pack label (A to E) used across France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. It scores products from −15 to +40 based on nutrients to limit vs nutrients to encourage. Beverages use a separate algorithm.
